Recaplet for Wednesday, April 18, 2007:

• Sonny signs the divorce papers.
• Patrick wants to find out what’s going on with Robin so he has Maxie steal the toxin screening.
• Luke wants Nikolas to sign over guardianship of Laura to him.

GH – 7th Floor Waiting Area
Patrick wants to know what Robin isn’t telling him. Robin says there’s nothing to tell. Patrick asks if she’s with Nikolas because she wants to be. Robin wishes she could soothe Patrick’s ego but she’s with Nikolas because a relationship with Patrick wasn’t what she wanted. Patrick asks why it’s so much better with Nikolas. She says that it’s easier. Patrick says she’s lying and leaves.

Wyndemere – Study
CJC lurks and watches the scene play out. Luke wants Nikolas sign over guardianship to him. Nikolas says no. Luke asks how long Nikolas has known. Nikolas says he found out when Scotty came over and told him. Luke says Scotty shouldn’t be allowed near Laura. Nikolas says he’s following Laura’s wishes and Luke needs to get over his anger. Luke tells Nikolas not to come between him and Laura.

Shadybrook
Scotty tells Tracy she’s become de-clawed. He says this whole thing could be mutually beneficial to them. He would get Laura and she would get Luke. Tracy wonders why he has this sudden desire to be Laura’s protector especially since he has no legal right to her. Scotty says Luke’s never treated Laura correctly and he wants to protect her. Tracy agrees to help Scotty.

Cottage
Carly and Sonny argue about the divorce papers. Sonny wants his family. Carly says he’ll always have the family but he knows that they can’t be together. She tells him to let go gracefully. Sonny tells her that he loves her enough to give her this with grace. He signs the papers and leaves.

GH – Logan’s Room
Lulu comes to visit Logan. She’s glad he’s okay. He says he’s been through and seen worse. She can’t imagine what it was like in Iraq. He says that a pretty girl like her shouldn’t have to imagine ugly things. I’m not sure if the writer’s intended it to be taken this way, but I found this statement to be extremely sexist and condescending. She says that she’s grateful for his actions. He thinks it must be the drugs because he’s sure she just gave him a compliment. She’s serious. He did a brave thing. Logan assures her that he doesn’t act without first thinking about how it could benefit him. Lulu’s not buying that he hustled downstairs on the off chance that it involved Sonny just so Logan could impress him. Logan says he has many other was to impress her if she’d like to see them. 3oop walks in at this point. He didn’t mean to interrupt. Lulu says his timing’s perfect. She suggests that 3oop hose Logan down first. She leaves. 3oop tells Logan he should write a book about how to turn off ladies. Logan says that Lulu is crazy about him.

Dastardly DA’s Office
Mayor Floyd comes in to talk to Ric. He stops short when he notices Molly. He asks Ric if they pay him enough for child care. Ric says that his nanny had a family emergency and he didn’t want to leave Molly with a stranger. Mayor Floyd points out that Ric’s office is right above the police lock-up. Ric states that Molly is safe with him. Seriously, that little girl is going to need therapy when she’s older. Mayor Floyd points out that Molly isn’t the only one basking in the glow of Ric’s protection. Ric doesn’t understand what he’s getting at. Mayor Floyd points out that Alcazar isn’t jail for the ambush on Sonny and Jason, nor did they tie Alcazar to the McHostage situation or the ringleader for that matter. Ric says that Alcazar can be useful still. Mayor Floyd isn’t buying it.

Wyndemere – Study
Nikolas tells Luke that Laura confessed to him before the wedding that she didn’t want to be a burden to Luke. Luke says that Laura wasn’t rational. Nikolas says that Luke can’t have it both ways. Luke doesn’t want Scotty to take Laura away. Nikolas says that signing over custody to Luke will just give Scotty ammunition. Luke sees that there’s no talking to Nikolas and leaves. CJC calls Luke an obnoxious jackass and offers to kill Luke. Nikolas tells CJC not to do him any favors. CJC says that his future as a free man depends on Nikolas’ undivided attention so he wants Nikolas to sign over custody to Luke. Nikolas says it’s a family matter and therefore none of CJC’s business. He assumes CJC had a mother and asks if CJC would go against her wishes. CJC says he’s not empathetic. Nikolas wonders if he cares about anyone. CJC says he must like Nikolas.

GH -7th Floor Waiting Area
Patrick helps a dizzy Alexis to the sofa. She just got done with a round of chemo. They talk about the Robin and Nikolas situation. Alexis isn’t buying it. Neither is Patrick. Patrick gets paged and leaves. Jax comes off the elevator and sees her. He’s there to give her a ride home and to ask her to be his Best Person for the wedding. He and Carly are getting married as soon as Sonny signs the papers. Alexis wants to rest a little longer before she goes home. Jax asks if she’s sure. She is. He leaves. Why did he leave? Did he have something more pressing to do that couldn’t have waited? I mean, his express purpose was to take her home, so why not wait? Alexis makes a phone call to Raoul, her cab driver. She wants to make one stop before she goes home.

Cottage
Carly’s sitting at the desk, trying to sign the divorce papers. Michael comes downstairs, sees her struggling and tells her to tear them up. Carly won’t. She says it’s sad but it’ll be a new beginning. Michael goes upstairs. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Lulu. She comes in all frustrated about the guys in her life, but she takes one look at Carly and realizes that her problems can wait. Carly tells Lulu that Sonny signed the divorce papers, which is what she wanted but she can’t bring herself to sign them. Carly sends Michael to the park to get Morgan and Leticia. Lulu asks why she sent Michael out. Carly says because Michael’s got big ears and he uses what he hears to his advantage. Truly, he is his mother’s child. Lulu asks if Carly wants the divorce. Carly does but whenever she picks up the pen, it’s like it’s channelling Sonny. Lulu: “Have you tried a different pen?” HA! Carly tells her to be serious. Lulu asks what would happen if Sonny wasn’t in the picture. Carly says she’d be in Jax’s arms in a heartbeat. And if Jax weren’t in the picture? Carly would find herself getting sucked back into Sonny’s orbit. Lulu says that doesn’t sound like a good thing. Carly says it’s not. Lulu wishes she could give Carly advice and help her the way she’s helped Lulu. All Lulu can do is tell Carly what Carly told her. Trust your heart.

Not Starbucks – Office
Sonny’s on the phone, aggravated. Alexis comes in. Sonny asks what Ric’s done. Alexis says it’s the other ex she’s come to talk about, Jax. She wants Sonny to sign the divorce papers. She lays out 2 reasons why Sonny should sign. 1) It’s not right to keep a person in the relationship if they don’t want to be there. 2) It’s not right to manipulate the people you love. Alexis says that she’s not Carly fan and would love to see her hoisted by her own petard but Jax loves Carly and so Alexis had to come to see Sonny, where the smell of the hazelnut lattes are making her ill. Sonny asks if that’s pee-tard or pi-tard. Alexis tells him to sign the damn papers. He says he did. Alexis asks why he didn’t tell her that. Sonny says he likes seeing her fired up about something and he gets a kick out of her advice. He says he’ll have someone take her home. He tells her that Jax doesn’t deserve her. She says that it comes along with being an ex. She says that sometimes, ex’s can become good friends and maybe that’s what’ll happen with him and Carly.

GH – 7th Floor Nurses’ Station
Kavi asks Patrick if he’s seen Robin. Patrick doesn’t know where she is. Kavi says he’s got the results she wanted. Kavi calls her Doctor Robin, which is annoying for 2 reasons. #1 – It makes him sound like a 4 year old. #2 – Her last name is Scorpio so if he calls all the doctors by their last names, then why does he call her by her first name? Patrick tries to take the file but Kavi won’t give it up, saying that it’s for Robin’s eyes only. Robin comes up and asks if that file is for her. Kavi says it is. She won’t say anything right away so Patrick snits off, but he hides behind a column to watch. Robin asks if Kavi managed to isolate the poisons. Kavi is the bearer of bad news. Whatever the poison is, it’s made of unknown compounds. Robin thanks Kavi for his help and asks him to take the file back to the lab and keep it secret. She leaves.

While Patrick looks on, Maxie and her cart of books comes up behind him and asks who they’re spying on. Patrick says he’s spying on Robin. Maxie wonders what’s going on with Robin because Robin’s no fool and only a fool would give up a guy like Patrick. Patrick asks if he detects a note of sympathy to his plight. Maxie says absolutely. He enlists Maxie’s aid in getting the file. Maxie walks over and “accidentally” overturns her book cart. While Kavi helps her put the books back on the cart, she swipes the file. She gets it back to Patrick. He tells her that it was a bit obvious but it worked. What an ungrateful bastard. When he said that, I wanted to reach through the tv and smack him. He looks at the file. Maxie wonders what’s so special about the file. Patrick doesn’t understand why Robin is so concerned over a toxin report.

Dastardly DA’s Office
Ric is reviewing the report from the ambush and asks how the 2 ex-military guys got involved. Mac tells him. He talks up 3oop. Ric recognizes 3oop’s name as one on the Academy wanna-be list. He asks how his scores were. Mac: “Highest on record.” HA!

GH – Logan’s Room
3oop says it seems like it was only yesterday that he was shooting a .22 at bottles on a fence and then in the blink of an eye, he was in a war, and then he was into other stuff. Logan asks what other stuff. 3oop covers by saying that he’s about to become a cop. Logan says that his training, even the bottles, came in handy for him then. Maxie is listening outside the door. Logan says that he’s glad that he had his training so that he could get on Sonny’s good side. 3oop tells Logan that he might want to rethink working for Sonny. Logan asks if 3oop’s worried about him or if he’s worried about the fact that they might end up on opposite sides of the war. 3oop says the whole idea of getting out the Army, for Logan, was to stop taking orders. Under Sonny, the only way out is in a body bag. Logan asks 3oop if he’s ever known him to get into something he couldn’t get out of. He tells 3oop to go be a cop and see which one of them retires first. Maxie comes in. She asks Logan if he wants something to read, perhaps something in the way of a comic book since they’re mostly pictures. He asks for a medical journal. Maxie’s all “are you kidding me?” 3oop tells her that Logan joined the Army to pay for medical school. Logan says that goal is dead now though. Maxie asks why. Logan says he has a spotty service record that could get in the way. Plus, I don’t really see Logan as the selfless doctor type. 3oop gets a call. Ric wants to see him. Maxie says that Mac probably wants to give him an award for saving her life. Logan things they found out that 3oop cheated on the test. 3oop gives him a look and leaves. Wow, what a shitty thing to say to someone who’s your friend. Logan is just full of piss and vinegar today isn’t he? Logan makes a crack to Maxie about being her hero. Maxie asks if he’s jealous. Logan says no. Maxie tosses him a magazine and walks out. So, Logan used to be in med school (I wonder if he was a medic in the Army) and now he’s trying to get a job in Sonny’s organization. Are TPTB trying to set him up to be Jason 2.0 (minus the brain damage)?

Not Starbucks – Office
Diane is practically having an apoplectic fit at Sonny for giving Carly more child support. Sonny says he signed the divorce papers. Diane says that explains the hound dog look. Sonny says he pays her to be his lawyer not his shrink. Diane doesn’t get why he’s giving Carly more money if she’s about to marry a man who’s got boatloads. Sonny wants Logan’s hospital bills paid as well. Diane complains that he’s been bleeding money the moment she walked in. Did it ever occur to him to just say “thank you” to Logan and walk away?

Q Mansion – Den
Scotty comes in to tell Luke that a court date for the guardianship hearing has been set and Luke’s being called as a witness. Luke makes a move towards Scotty but Tracy stops him. She tells Luke to give Laura to Scotty because if not, the court will dredge up every painful memory and does he really want to air his dirty laundry in front of Lulu? Scotty tells Luke to get Nikolas to stop fighting him. He leaves. Luke is pissed at Tracy and tells her that he’ll never abandon Laura. Tracy asks who says he has to.

Wyndemere – Study
CJC comes in to see Robin and Nikolas talking. He tells Robin about Scotty stopping by. Patrick lurks outside the doorway.

Dastardly DA’s Office
3oop comes in to Ric’s office. Ric wants to talk to him about the ambush. 3oop is reluctant to talk in front of Molly. Ric says she’ll be fine. Ric wants to fast track 3oop through the Academy.

GH – Logan’s Room
Sonny visits Logan and tells him he’s paying his hospital bill. Logan thanks him and says that he could use a job. Sonny offers to call Carly and see if she’s got something going on at McHotel. Logan had something else in mind. Sonny snaps at Logan: “You’re a smart kid so let me give you some advice. Take what you can get because I’ve given as much as I can today.”

Cottage
Carly’s sitting in the living room, pen in hand, divorce papers in front of her. She flashes back to the McHostage situation. She throws the pen at the door. Jax comes in and sees her crying.
