Recaplet for Tuesday, April 17, 2007:

• Scotty tells Nikolas that he’s taking him to court over guardianship of Laura.
• Jax and Jason both visit Sonny in the hospital and tell him to give up Carly.
• AArun tells Amelia about Sam’s sorrid past.

Cottage
Michael wants to visit Sonny. Carly tells him that they can go visit him as soon as Leticia gets back from the park with Morgan. Jax comes in. Carly tells him it’s perfect timing. They tell Michael that they’re getting married. Michael objects, saying that Carly is married to Sonny already. Carly reminds Michael that the only reason she is married is because Sonny was in trouble, but since he’s not in trouble anymore, there’s no reason to be married anymore. Michael insists that she loves Sonny. Carly says that she’ll always care for Sonny but she can’t be married to him. Jax insists that the only thing that will change will be the fact that Jax will be living with them. Michael concedes that as stepfathers go, he likes Jax, but he is sure that Sonny won’t allow the divorce to happen. He leaves. Carly calls after him but Jax tells her to let him leave. Michael just needs time to adjust.

GH – Sonny’s Room
Sonny’s reading the paper. Amelia comes in. Sonny thanks her for being there. Amelia gets the idea that it wasn’t a request. Sonny holds up the paper and says that Sam’s career has become an embarrassment for him and his wife. Amelia says that if Sonny has issues with his wife, he needs to take them up with Jax, not her. Sonny doesn’t like his kids being subjected to the press. Amelia says that this is Sam’s choice. Sonny isn’t happy. Patrick comes in to run some tests, so Amelia leaves.

Penthouse
Sam is reading the paper, brow furrowed. Too many big words for her? I’m sorry. Was that a bit too catty? Spinelli creeps downstairs and looks around for Jason. He asks Sam if she’s seen him. Sam said he left before she woke up and probably went for a ride. Spinelli gulps. Both he and Sam freak out about Jason finding out their news. Before they get a chance to ask each other what it is, Jason comes in. They both look at him like deer in headlights, so he tells them to just say what it is they have to say. Spinelli starts to go first, but Sam interrupts him. She tells Jason about the paper and shows him the headline. He says that she can’t control the media. Sam knows that Sonny will be furious. Jason says he’ll talk to Sonny, but warns her that it can’t happen again. She promises. She leaves. Jason sits down. Spinelli tells Jason he understands why he didn’t get mad at Sam. He can’t because he has no right since he’s guilty for not telling her about the baby. Jason says that Sam deserves to have the job. Spinelli argues that it clashes with Jason’s job. Jason says that he can’t tell Sam because she’s already suffered enough. Spinelli starts to argue that Sam would be okay but Carly barges in with good news.

Shadybrook
Luke asks Lainey if Scotty’s been around. Lainey says he came by this morning and told her about the whole guardianship issue. Luke wants Scotty banned. Lainey can’t do that. Luke says Scotty has no legal rights to Laura. Lainey tells Luke he doesn’t either. When Laura checked herself in, she named Nikolas as her sole guardian. Luke is confused. Why just Nikolas? Why not him, or even the 3 kids? Laine says that whatever Laura decided, Shadybrook has to follow the instructions. Luke goes in to visit Laura. He tells her that he doesn’t understand why she wouldn’t want him to be her guardian.

Q Mansion – Den
GhostAlan tells Tracy he hopes that she’s pouring decaf. Tracy tells him that she’s not in the mood today. They talk about Laura and the guardianship. She knows that Luke will freak out when he finds out about Nikolas being the sole guardian. GhostAlan points out that Luke will always love Laura. Tracy knows that, but she’s doesn’t understand why Luke cares who is in charge of what kind of oatmeal Laura eats. GhostAlan says that Luke knows in his head that Laura’s never coming back but it’s a long way from head to heart. Tracy tells GhostAlan that Luke needs to let Nikolas handle this all. Luke walks in. Tracy asks him what’s going on. He tells her about Nikolas. Tracy says she knows.

Wyndemere
Nikolas tells CJC that the paperwork on the Visa can’t be established until French residency is established. He suggests CJC go to France to help expedite the process. Just leave him enough counteragent. CJC says that Robin could reverse engineer the counteragent then so no way. Alexis walks in. CJC says that he was just leaving. Alexis is actually there to see him. She wants to thank him for the other night. Nikolas is all “who in the what now?” CJC says he saved Alexis’ life. Alexis says it wasn’t that dire. CJC just kept Kristina company at GH while she was being treated for dehydration. He taught her to play Chemin de Fer and entertained her with funny voices. CJC was happy to do it. Nikolas doesn’t look happy with this turn of events. Before he can say anything, Scotty comes busting in. He wants Nikolas to sign over guardianship of Laura to him.

GH – Sonny’s Room
Patrick is examining Sonny. He wants to run more tests. Robin comes in to check on Sonny. She and Patrick argue over Sonny’s treatment. Patrick leaves. Sonny wonders what all that was about. Robin tells him that Patrick is having trouble with their breakup. Jax comes in. He wants to talk to Sonny.

Q Mansion – Den
Luke asks how Tracy knows. Tracy says that she went to Shadybrook after the McHostage situation to make sure everything was okay because Scotty was back in town and was told by Shadybrook at that point. Luke points out that she neglected to tell him. She said it was a non-issue until Scotty pulled this. Luke wonders why Laura would do this. Tracy says that Laura did what she would’ve done. She wanted Luke to remember her as the woman she was, not the patient he’d have to take care of.

Penthouse
Spinelli says he can see that Carly has some news so he’ll leave. Carly thanks him. He leaves. Carly asks Jason why he’s all jumpy. Jason tells her about the bike issue and how Spinelli hasn’t confessed yet. Carly marvels at Jason’s ability to wait people out. Jason knows that she’s engaged. She wants Jason to convince Sonny to sign the divorce papers.

GH – 7th Floor Nurses’ Station
Robin tells Patrick to learn how to keep his personal and professional relationships separate. Epiphany tells them to take it someplace else. They move to the Waiting Area. Robin can’t believe that Patrick’s ego is so big that he can’t believe that she dumped him for someone else. Patrick says that he knows that she’s lying to him but he is hurt that she won’t trust him enough to tell him the truth. She says she doesn’t want it to be like this.

Wyndemere
Alexis tells Scotty that no court will let him take guardianship over Nikolas, especially since he’s not been married to Laura for a very long time. Scotty says Nikolas has been too permissive with allowing Luke to visit. Nikolas points out that Laura loved Luke and Scotty knows it. Scotty says that he loves Laura and that Nikolas doesn’t know what’s best for her. He leaves. CJC points out that he’s sympathetic but that he and Nikolas have business to conduct. Alexis: “Clearly you’ve had your sensitive moment for the year.” She offers to help Nikolas with the Scotty issue. He declines, telling her to focus on her health. She leaves. Nikolas tells CJC that all this isn’t working for either of them. Nikolas offers CJC $60M to leave for good. CJC asks why he’d want to leave. Nikolas says he has to concentrate on this custody hearing and he can’t be distracted by their “vague” business deals. CJC says that the arrangement suits him fine. He leaves. Luke comes busting in and wants to talk about Laura.

GH – Sonny’s Room
Sonny tells Jax that Carly is still his wife. Jax tells Sonny that for the sake of The Boys, he needs to let Carly go. She made her choice.

GH – 7th Floor Nurses’ Station
Stan is there to see Sonny. Amelia asks how much clout he has with Sonny. He says some. Amelia would like him to bend Sonny’s ear and tell him to deal with Sam’s job. Stan says that’s not really the area he’d be most helpful in, but Amelia tells him that the closet Marxists need to stick together. He says he’ll see what he can do. She thanks him and leaves. Epiphany comes up and tells him to stay away from the white women. Stan tells her to step off. “Just because your story turned out that way, don’t put it on me.” Interesting. Did Epiphany’s ex-husband leave her for a white woman?

Shadybrook
Scotty comes to visit Laura but Tracy stops him. Scotty wonders why Tracy is backing Luke. She says that Luke is her husband.

Everyday Heroes  Set
AArun tells Sam that Amelia’s running late. Carly comes storming in to talk to Sam. AArun tells her it’s a closed set. Carly says she’ll go talk to the reporters outside then. Sam tells AArun it’s okay. He eyeballs Carly and leaves. Carly tells Sam that she doesn’t appreciate her or her kids being dragged into Sam’s job. Sam tries to defend herself, but Carly tells her that sooner or later, she’ll have to choose between the job or Jason.

GH – Sonny’s Room
Jason comes in to find Stan and Sonny talking about business. Stan leaves. Sonny knows that Carly sent Jason over to tell him to sign the divorce papers. Jason says that he’s the one who convinced her to marry Sonny in the first place, so it’s now his job to convince Sonny to let Carly go. He tells Sonny that all this back and forth is bad for The Boys. Sonny said that he was ready to do it. The night of the McHostage crisis, he was there to give Carly back her passport and tell her that he was letting her go. But during the McHostage crisis, she admitted that she loved him. Carly only wants Jax because he’s safe. Jason says that doesn’t matter. Carly made her choice and after all the stuff she put up with for Sonny, he owes it to her to deal with this.

Everyday Heroes  Set
Amelia apologizes to AArun for running late. She sees Sam napping. Sam’s having The Memory again. She wakes up and they get to work with rehearsal. While Sam’s rehearsing, AArun tells Amelia that the background information came back on Sam. Apparently, Sam ran a scam on men. She would marry them, clean out their bank accounts, and skip town. She did that 5 times, but the last guy, Bill Monroe, she killed.

Penthouse
Jason comes home to find Spinelli waiting for him. Spinelli finally confesses to the bike denting. Jason says it’s okay. Spinelli tells him he can be mad at him. Jason says that he trusts that if Spinelli says he won’t do it again, he won’t. He tells Spinelli that he should ask next time because Jason would be willing to give him tips on how to ride. Spinelli tells Jason he’d make a great dad. Jason leaves. Where the hell is he going? He just got home.

Cottage
Sonny comes over to the Cottage to see Carly. He tells her he’s ready to sign the divorce papers.
