–Jason tells Alan what Craig said to him during the shoot-out.

Recaplet for Tuesday, February 27, 2007:
Jax comes back and is a complete ASSHOLE to Carly about marrying and sleeping with Sonny.
Elizabeth and Lucky tell Luke and Lulu they’re getting remarried.
Alan dies and the Qs deal with the aftermath.

And now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve pretty much cried for a whole hour so I’m going to blow my nose, then call my Dad and tell him I love him (and my Mom too).

I’m recapping this one by location since it mainly focused on Alan’s death. Also, I cried when I watched the show, I cried when I recapped it, and I’m sure I’ll be tearing up when I write up the recap.

Cottage
Carly hugs Jax but all he can focus on is that she slept with Sonny. She pulls him into the house and tells him not to jump to conclusions. He says there’s nowhere to jump: either she did or didn’t. She admits she did and tries to explain about the hostage situation. He doesn’t seem to buy it. And I call Shenanigans because there’s no way he could’ve flown in and not have experienced the tightened security. Even if he never turned on a tv, the PCPD had airport security tightened so Jax would’ve had to deal with that. He notices that she’s not wearing her engagement ring. She says the gunmen took everyone’s jewelry. She turns it around on him and wonders where the hell he was. Turns out, he was in Siberia because Jerry got in trouble with the Russian Mafia. Wow, that’s a big organization because they were also helping Helena kidnap Spencer. Carly whines some more about thinking she was going to die. Jax tells her that emotional duress isn’t an excuse for infidelity. She says it’s not infidelity if it’s your husband. Jax is even more floored now. She tries to explain but he won’t listen. He starts to leave but is stopped by Michael and Morgan running down the stairs to see him. They’re happy he’s back and they missed him. He says he missed them too. Michael asks why Jax didn’t call. Carly points out that he was in Siberia and Jax says the SAT phones weren’t working but that didn’t stop him from buying them presents. They run out to the car to get them, but Michael tells Jax that Carly only married Sonny to keep him out of jail. They come backing with their presents: Russian hats. Wow, what a cheap gift. Buy them at the airport gift shop? But then again, they’re young kids so I guess they don’t care. Carly sends them upstairs. Jax has calmed down a bit at this point and realizes that Sonny probably manipulated Carly into sleeping with him but he still blames Carly for falling for the manipulations. He tells her he’s not sure there’s room in her life for him and he leaves.

Spencer House
I’ll make this really quick. Lucky and Elizabeth talk about their renewed love for each other and agree to get remarried. They go to GH to tell Lulu and Luke.

GH – 10th Floor Waiting Area & Alan’s Room
Emily hugs Monica and tells her that Alan went peacefully. She’s sorry she couldn’t get there in time. Monica is glad he wasn’t alone. Edward says he shouldn’t be alone now. Emily says that Jason’s with him. Monica is glad that Jason got to see Alan. Emily sadly points out that Jason wasn’t there when Alan passed. Monica gets upset that she sent Jason away to get cleaned up. Edward blames himself for Alan’s treatment of AJ and Jason. Emily reminds both of them that Alan wouldn’t want them to blame themselves for anything. Nikolas shows up and comforts Emily. He asks Monica if there’s anything he can do. She thanks him for being in Emily’s life. Emily tells Monica that she can’t take care of everyone. Monica says it helps. Emily says she’ll take care of the paperwork. Edward leaves to go say goodbye to Alan.

Dillon and Alice show up. Dillon takes one look at Tracy and knows that Alan is gone. They hug.

Alice bears hugs Monica and comforts her

In Alan’s room, Jason is standing there, looking at Alan. Ford comes in and says that only family is allowed in there. Jason starts to say that Alan is his dad but can’t say the words and instead says that he’s Alan’s son. Ford explains Alan’s condition to Jason, making sure that Jason knows he didn’t suffer in the end. He leaves them alone. Jason tells Alan that he went after CJC to make him pay for hurting everyone and CJC pointed out that he was wasting time. He tells Alan about Elizabeth’s baby and he realizes now how Alan felt every time he looked at Jason. He’s sorry he didn’t understand until now that all Alan wanted was for him to be happy.

Tracy tells Dillon a story about when she and Alan were little and how they used to tease each other. She wore pigtails and he used to tease her about them. One day a boy from her class teased her about them and Alan held the boy in the fountain until he apologized to her. Her big brother was always there to protect her and he was the one person who knew what it was like to be a Q. She’s not sure she can live without him.

Skey sees Jason leaving Alan’s room and realizes that he didn’t make it. She asks if he was alone and when he tells her that Emily was with him, Skye is glad that at least one of his daughters was there. She feels guilty for what went down at McHotel. Jason asks her if she knew CJC was going to storm the lobby. She says no. He asks if she wanted Alan to die. She says no. He tells her she’s not to blame then. She says that if she had it to do over again, she would’ve done things differently. He agrees. She leaves. Edward comes around the hallway and tells Jason that Alan would be glad that he’s there. Jason apologizes for not being there sooner. Edward tells Jason that he already knows what Alan would’ve told him. Alan wanted Jason to live his life and by the time Alan realized that Jason has chosen his own path, the gap between them was too wide. Alan loved him deeply. Edward thinks it’s ironic that he struggled with Alan and Alan struggled with AJ and Jason. Edward tells Jason to learn from their mistakes and to let his kids be their own people.

Tracy asks Dillon if he can stand another story. He says he can. When she and Alan were teenagers, Alan was the accomplished sailor in the family. Tracy wanted to show him up so she took Edward’s brand new sailboat out and promptly ran it aground. Alan took the blame for it and after all the punishments had been handed down, Alan secretly took her out and taught her how to sail. Dillon wonders why she never tells stories like this. She says she doesn’t think about it. He says that they really loved each other. She says that they never used the word, but yes, they did. He suggests that she take him sailing one day and tell him stories about her as a kid. She says she never told Alan that she loved him and time ran out. She won’t make the same mistake again. She tells Dillon that she loves him with all her heart and that he’s a magnificent son. They both break down crying and hug. Shit, now I’m crying too. I have to say that Jane Elliott really rocked this scene.

Emily sees Jason sitting in a chair in the hallway. He thanks her for sending Spinelli to find him. She tells him that they both can take away the knowledge that Alan loved them.

Monica walks into Alan’s room as 2 hospital workers are unhooking the machines and covering Alan. Monica asks for a moment. They leave. She says her goodbye to him.

At the Q Mansion, Edward is sitting in the den, in the dark. Skye comes into the room. Edward brusquely asks her what she’s doing there. Skye says that she was at the hospital, thinking of how she could honor Alan, and she realized that he’d probably be worried about Edward, so she’s there to provide comfort to him, if he’ll let her. Edward accepts this. He says he was remembering Alan when he was a little boy. Children become adults but in the parents’ hearts, they’ll always be their children and now his boy is gone. He starts to cry. Skye comforts him.

Back at GH, Emily is standing alone in Alan’s room. It’s empty. Nikolas comes up and she starts to cry. They hug.

Back at the Q Mansion, Monica comes home. The house is empty. She sits down in the den. She’s holding it together until she sees Jason. She tries to tell him she’s fine, but he can see she’s not. He kneels down beside her chair and and hugs her while she cries.

And now I have to go to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face because I’ve been crying.
