Recaplet for Monday, January 22, 2007:
Ric arrests Alexis in front of her kids and threatens to put her in prison unless she gives up all rights to Molly.
Jason wants to know who Alcazar’s working for.

GH – 10th Floor
Robin says no. Patrick’s all “huh?” Robin say no as in declining. He lists out all the perks: enough room, close to work, fully furnished. She just has to bring her toothbrush, clothing optional. There’s a lot of blah blah back and forth and finally, he just gives her a key and tells her to use it if she wants. I have to tell you, this whole Robin/Patrick relationship storyline is making me want to tear my hair out.

Metro Court – Front Desk
Desk Clerk (heretoafter known as DC) shows Sam a task (print out paper, attach it to another paper, put in 3 ring binder). He leaves. Guest comes to desk. It’s Fr. Ruiz. Sam asks why he’s there. He tells her that Queen of Angeles collected some items for its charity auction and Carly’s letting them store it in the vault. Sam says no way would Carly let him anywhere near the hotel. Fr. Ruiz says she set it up with Fr. Coates but since Fr. Coates is out of town, he’s dropping off the items. Sam tells him she doesn’t want him near her. Davis tells Sam that’s not how they treat guests of the hotel. He insists that Sam apologize. Sam isn’t going to do it. Fr. Ruiz says that Manny put Sam through a lot so he understands her attitude. She angrily tells him not to defend her. Davis suggests that someone else help Fr. Ruiz, so DC comes over. Davis says that if she has a problem with a guest, she should come to him. Sam defends herself (rightfully so) saying that she won’t stand there and be nice to that man, priest or not.

PCPD – Squad Room
Ric walks in and Cruz says he got Ric’s message. Cruz points out that case reports aren’t due until Wednesday. Ric has implemented a new policy: case reports due by next day at 9am. Cruz points out that will cause more paperwork. Ric doesn’t care. He wants to make sure officers are doing due dillegence. Cruz mentions that DA Davis wanted the same thing and managed to get it done without extra paperwork. Ric snots that Cruz doesn’t work for DA Davis anymore.

Lakehouse
Police arrest Alexis in front of the girls. I’m sorry, but I refuse to believe that the Officers wouldn’t be sympathetic to Alexis considering that they know she used to be the DA and they probably know she’s got cancer. I guess the writers want to drum up lots of sympathy for Alexis and they have to make it look bad for Ric.

PCPD – Squad Room
Ric’s on the phone with Judge Hunter, moving the custody hearing trial to an earlier date. Cruz comes in looking for him and he looks mega-pissed. He calls Ric a bottom feeder. Ric tells him to watch his tone. Cruz went to get a file from an officer but he’s on a call arresting Alexis on a trumped up drug charge. Ric shows Cruz the photos that prove Alexis was smoking. He says he has to arrest her or else it will look like preferential treatment. Cruz sarcastically says, “Well, we wouldn’t want that now, would we?” Ric gets all big for his britches and tells Cruz that insubordination sets a bad example for the other officers. Cruz points out the example Ric’s been setting: sleeping with his stepdaughter, stealing his wife’s job while she was sick, and now having her arrested. Ric puts Cruz on suspended duty.

Not Starbucks – Outside
While Diane, Jason and Sonny are outside talking about the custody case, the Sniper gets ready to shoot. Before he can, he gets knocked out by someone (same someone who tried to kill Alcazar in the hospital?). Jason feels like something’s wrong. Talk turns to the Alcazar shooting and Diane tells Sonny to keep his nose clean. Either that, or find a less public way to commit crime. Viola calls Sonny about Alexis. He tells her to hang tight. Sonny and Diane head to the PCPD while Jason leaves to take a drive along the waterfront. He stops and looks at the building where the sniper was.

GH – 10th Floor
Maxie comes by and asks to borrow Georgie’s necklace so she can look good at her job interview. Epiphany tells Maxie to get out if she’s not working. Maxie snits that Elizabeth isn’t perfect. If she was, she would’ve stuck by her man. Epiphany: “The way you did? By stealing pills to keep a man in your bed?” Maxie tells Epiphany to stay out of her business. She thanks Georgie for the necklace and leaves. Georgie apologizes for Maxie. Epiphany says that Maxie doesn’t need her sister to lie for her; she does a good enough job of it on her own.

Bldg Across the Street – Empty Room
Jason kicks in the door and checks the window. he notices notches on the windowsill where the sniper gun was.

PCPD – Squad Room
Cops bring Alexis in and give Ric the evidence. Alexis and Ric bicker. She thought there were lines that he wouldn’t cross but that’s clearly not the case. he’s going to charge her with possession of a controlled substance. She can’t believe he’s blackmailing her for custody. Diane and Sonny show up. Lots of retread talk about custody/cancer/dangerous lifestyle/etc. Alexis appreciates Sonny and Diane’s help but she doesn’t have the energy to fight Ric.

Patrick’s Apartment
Patrick has arranged the furniture. Robin comes over with a bottle of wine. They argue about furniture placement and blah blah blah enough already.

Metro Court – Front Desk
Maxie walks in and breaks a heel. Sam’s trying to help her out by taping the heel back on. Maxie’s freaking out because this job is important to her. Knowing what that’s like, Sam decides to lend Maxie her shoes. Maxie thanks her and runs off to her interview. I just have to pause a moment and say that both those ladies’ shoes are fab, even though I’m not really a shoe person. And, there is no way that Sam would be able to stand at the front desk all day in those shoes. Davis gives Sam a fax to give to Mr. Porter, who’s sitting with Mrs. Porter in the lobby. Sam gingerly walks her way over to Mr. Porter, but the heel slips and she ends up face first in his lap, with Mrs. Porter looking less than pleased. Mrs. P complains to Davis that the staff is incompetent and accuses Sam of throwing herself at Mr. P. Sam starts to explain that’s not what happened and Mrs. P asks if she’s calling her a liar. Sam says no and shuts up. Davis comps their room. They leave. If that were me, Bitch would’ve gotten the broken shoe thrown at her head. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I don’t work retail. Sam explains what really happened. Davis tells her to go fix the shoe. While she’s doing that, Davis and DC talk about her being Jason’s girlfriend. Davis leaves. DC comes to the desk to answer the phone. He tells the caller that there’s no Angela Monroe there.

GH – ICU
Jason visits Alcazar. He wants information. Alcazar says he already talked to Sonny. Jason says they’re going to talk again. Ok. This might be TMI but damn, when Jason took off his jacket and put his hands on his hips, I think my ovaries started singing. Between his blonde hair, the smoldering eyes and the way his arm muscles rippled when he took off his jacket, I think the temperature in my room rose about 10 degrees. He wants to know who Alcazar’s working for? Alcazar says he works for a lot of people. Jason wants to know how many of them want Sonny dead. Alcazar: “All of them.” Jason asks who ordered the hit. Alcazar’s surprised he’s not at the top of the list. Jason figures someone has Alcazar very scared and he asks who it is. Alcazar says nothing. Jason asks about the shipment. Alcazar says the information was kept secret and the people who bought the shipment will do everything in their power to get it. Jason asks why Alcazar would agree to a secret shipment. Alcazar doesn’t answer and says he’ll give Jason the same advice he gave Sonny: stay out of it.

PCPD – Squad Room
More of Diane and Ric arguing. Diane tells Alexis not to negotiate with Ric. She thanks Diane for her help but tells Ric that she knows what he wants so come over later and they’ll discuss it. He arranges for her release. Diane and Alexis move towards the processing area. Sonny confronts Ric. I’m doing this from limited notes and memory so it’s not going to be word for word, but you’ll get the idea.
“You’re not gonna like how this ends, Ric. One day, Molly will find out that you took advantage of her sick mother to steal her. You can cite laws, you can tell her it was legal but she’ll know the truth, jut like I do. This is injustice. You might as well be punching Alexis in the face. You are abusing Molly’s mother and one day, your child will hate you for it. But then again, that would be justice.” Man, Maurice Bernard just nailed that speech! And it resonates especially if you know Sonny’s back history with his mom and stepdad.

Patrick’s Apartment
Robin and Patrick argue, then have sex on the couch (Note to Self: don’t ever sit on that couch.), then she agrees to move in with him.

Metro Court – Front Desk
Sam’s on the phone with Tracy. She says she’s upheld her part of the bargain so get rid of the incriminating evidence. She hangs up. Maxie comes out of the boutique. She got the job. She thanks Sam for being so nice to her so she got her something. It’s a pair of very nice shoes. Sam says she can’t accept the gift. Maxie wants them to be a trade since Sam’s shoes are now her “lucky shoes.” Maxie feels like the job is a start of a new life. Sam knows the feeling. See, when Maxie’s not a scheming, manipulative bitch, she’s likeable. I bet she was okay during the Jesse storyline. She leaves. Davis asks Sam to put Mrs. Burroghs’ coin collection in the vault. Alcazar calls and wants his valuable shipment stored in the vault.

Lakehouse
Alexis is home. She reassures Kristina that things will be okay. Ric comes over and Alexis sends them upstairs to clean up for dinner. She’s agreeing to shared custody in order for dropped charges. Ric says no deal. He wants full custody. She says he’s disgusting to use this against her. He says she brought in on herself by smoking with his kid in the house. I really wish she would’ve pointed out that the girls were never in the house when she smoked but I guess it would be moot since Ric is eeevilll. She says that smoking was the only thing that made the chemo tolerable so that her kids wouldn’t find her huddled up on the couch, in pain and vomiting. He says she has a choice: she can sign away custody right now or draw it out in court. She can’t lose her daughter. He says that he may have flaws but so does she and his can’t be proven in a court of law.

Not Starbucks – Outside
Jason points out the building the sniper was in and tells him to find out who owns the building and buy it. Bernie calls it the Fender Building and goes to find out if it’s for sale. Sonny finds Jason and fills him in on the Alexis/Ric situation. Jason fills Sonny in on the hit. They go into Sonny’s office where they talk about what’s going on with Alcazar. They need to have whatever’s going on not affect them. While they talk, there are scenes of microchips being loaded into a secured metal suitcase and of a Mystery Person standing in front of Alcazar’s room, holding a newspaper with a picture of Sonny on it.
