Recaplet for Thursday, December 28, 2006:
Sonny catches Alexis smoking the weed.
Ric decides to sue for sole custody of Molly.
Sam meets Mateo and freaks out.

Not Starbucks
Ric walks into a coffee shop and goes back towards Sonny’s office. An employee tells him that he can’t go back there. Ric’s all “Dude, I’m a big important man. I can do what I want.” The One Line Extra let’s him go. Ric bursts into Sonny’s office. Sonny wants to know what Ric’s doing there. Ric wants his daughter and Sonny’s going to help him get her.

Lake House
Lainey, Alexis, and Kristina are having a tea party. Lainey compliments Kristina on the tea set and asks Alexis for more tea. Alexis can barely lift the pot. Kristina offers Alexis a mint milano and Alexis turns it down.

GH – 5th Floor Hey, I thought 4th floor was the OB/GYN floor!
Jason asks Kelly if it’s safe for Sam to have another baby.

Elm Street Pier
Sam tells Father Ruiz to stay the hell away from her. He apologizes for scaring her and introduces himself. She tells him it doesn’t matter what he calls himself, he’s a sick man.

PCPD
Nikolas is staring at the photo of Colleen. Emily brings him a sandwich. Nikolas states that the time stamp shows that Colleen was at the airport while they were still at the church bothering with Helena. Lucky tells Nikolas that they’re pulling passenger lists to search for women travelling with children. Nikolas laments that she could be anywhere. Lucky says they’ll do everything they can. Nikolas says he should’ve listened to Emily when she voiced her concerns about Colleen from the beginning. She says he can’t blame himself. He does though because the signs were there and he ignored them.

Colleen’s Denver Apartment
Colleen’s dressing Spencer, getting ready for her interview. She wishes he could tell the day care people how good she. But she’s glad he can’t talk right now. By the time he does start, he’ll only remember her as his mother.

Lake House
Alexis reassures Kristina that she’s okay. She suggests more tea, but Lainey says Kristina’s tired of tea. Viola takes the girls upstairs and Alexis turns on Lainey. She doens’t think Kristina needs reminding of Alexis’ illness. Lainey says the breakthrough that happened with Kristina on Christmas happened because Kristina saw her world returning to normal and now it’s back to being upheaved. Whatever Alexis did made Kristina responsive, so Alexis needs to resume that.

Not Starbucks
Sonny is busy, but Ric says he’ll wait. Sonny sighs, tells his associate to give him a moment with his brother, and then waits until the associate is gone to tell Ric that there’s no way he’d let Ric take Molly away from Alexis. Ric says he’ll cite Sonny with contempt if he fails to appear in court. Sonny says he won’t get up on the stand and say that Alexis isn’t a good mother. Ric says Sonny won’t have to. All Sonny has to say is that Alexis gave him Kristina and Molly to care for when she got sick. Sonny’s lifestyle proves risk so Ric will get Molly with no problems.

GH – 5th Floor
Elizabeth eavesdrops as Kelly tells Jason that if Sam is given time to heal, she could have a baby as early as this time next year. Jason thanks her and turns to leave. He notices Elizabeth.

Elm Street Pier
Father Ruiz says he’s there to atone for Manny’s misdeeds. Sam threatens to kill him herself if he comes near her again.

PCPD
Cruz and Lucky haven’t been able to find any criminal activity in Colleen’s background. They want to question Nikolas again about her. Emily reassures him things will be okay.

Lake House
Alexis sends The Girls out to the movies with Viola. Once they’re gone, she pulls out a baggie containing 2 joints and a pack of matches.

Not Starbucks
Sonny threatens to tell any judge about Ric’s nefarious deeds. Ric says Sonny has no proof so it’ll be his word against Ric’s. Sonny asks how Molly will feel about all this when she’s older. Ric can lie to her now while she’s a baby but when she’s older, she’ll get her own answers and she’ll find out about the lies and what a twisted lying bastard Ric is. Sonny holds the door open and Ric leaves.

GH – 5th Floor
Elizabeth asks how Jason’s doing. He’s fine. He just wanted to ask Kelly questions about Sam’s health. Elizabeth says that Sam seems fine, other than having to answer to Iris every day. Jason’s glad Sam got the job. Elizabeth says that Jason now has an excuse to have his leg checked out. He tells her he’s fine and that she shouldn’t worry. It’s not good for the baby.

Penthouse
Sam’s home, calling for Jason. She goes into the hall closet, pulls down a metal box and pulls out a gun. Holding the gun, she flashes back to the night she shot Diego. She sits on the couch, cradling the gun.

At this point, it goes to commercial. And it’s a promo for All My Children, which features a story line with Bianca. Bianca is Erica’s daughter and she’s a lesbian. Bianca is starting to fall for a character who is technically a man and is in the process of becoming a woman. And I’m okay with that. I’m fine with transgendered people getting a storyline on soaps. What I’d like though is for a transgendered person to get a normal name. Because really? Zarf? ZARF?!!

PCPD
Cruz wants to know if Nikolas has heard from Colleen. Has she called demanding a ransom? Nikolas looks at him as if he’s insane. Lucky explains that it’s common in most cases for the kidnapper to call, demand a ransom, and threaten the parents into not cooperating with the police. Nikolas says that Colleen doesn’t want money. She wants him and since she can’t have him, she took his son instead. He starts getting very angry at them. Emily hears the shouting and pokes her head in. Lucky tells her to take Nikolas home. Nikolas says he’ll find his son on his own and storms out.

Penthouse
Jason comes home to find Sam with the gun. She tells him she saw Father Ruiz. He asks if Fr. Ruiz threatened her. She says she didn’t give him the chance. She felt like she was reliving a nightmare. She promised Kristina that she wouldn’t shoot anyone again, but she can’t keep that promise if Manny’s still out there. Jason takes the gun from her and assures her that Fr. Ruiz isn’t Manny. Stan checked it out and he is Manny’s brother. She thinks it’s too much of a coincidence that they have the same tattoos. He agrees but is sure it’s not Manny. Manny’s dead so he can’t hurt them. She says the brother can. They were raised by the same people For all they know, Fr. Ruiz could be 100 times worse than Manny ever was. Jason points out that Fr. Ruiz is a priest. Sam says that Manny was a janitor in a hospital. It doesn’t matter. He was evil.

GH – 5th Floor
Kelly laments her busy day. She says something about the holidays makes people baby happy. She gets paged and leaves. Elizabeth then runs into Ric, literally. He asks her if she thinks Molly would be better off with him or Alexis.

Lake House
Alexis is eating the mint milanos and playing with one of Molly’s toys when Sonny knocks on the door. Alexis runs around trying to rid the house of the pot smell. She finally answers the door. Sonny asks if she’s okay. She is. She wants to know why he’s there. He’s there to visit Kristina. Alexis tells him she sent The Girls out with Viola. He wonders if she’ll be okay all alone. She says she prefers it. He takes a big sniff and asks what that smell is. She shows him the air freshener. Alexis: “It’s called Savannah Breeze. It’s smells like a savannah and a breeze.” He spots her plate full of cookies and realizes that she’s smoking pot.

Elm Street Pier
Nikolas is angry. Mostly at himself because he was stupid and couldn’t protect his own son. Emily says the police are doing everything they can. He says it’s not enough and that he has to do something. Emily gets angry at him and tells him to pull himself together. He says he should’ve listened to Emily. He worries that Colleen will panic and leave Spencer somewhere. Emily is sure Colleen wouldn’t hurt Spencer.

GH – 5th Floor
Ric explains that he’s trying to get custody of Molly. Elizabeth asks what happened with trying to work things out with Alexis. Ric thinks that Alexis is too sick to care properly for his daughter. He wants Elizabeth to testify as a character witness for him. She declines because of her own custody battle she’ll be facing. He understands. And that’ll be just more fuel for him to do something bad to Lucky.

Lake House
Alexis says that the pot’s not hers, technically. Sam brought it over to help with the chemo. Sonny asks if it helps. Alexis says no, but then relents a bit and says it does. She’s not smoking it in front of the kids. She defends it by saying it’s medicinal. Sonny wonders why she doesn’t just cook it into food. She can’t risk the girls helping themselves to pot laced cookies. Sonny tells her to finish the joint. Alexis won’t smoke in front of him. He asks why. She says because it’s illegal. They both get a chuckle out of that statement. He tells her that given all the laws he’s broken, he finds it amusing that she won’t take a hit off a joint in front of him. There’s a knock on the door, which sends her into a tizzy. She answers the door. It’s Ric. She tells him Molly’s not there but he barges in and says that he’s there to talk custody. She threatens to have him arrested for unlawful entry. He asks why she’s so nervous. Sonny says it’s probably because she doesn’t want him to take her kid. Alexis says Ric knows she won’t let him take Molly from her.

Elm Street Pier
Lucky calls Nikolas. He thinks Colleen might have caught a flight to Denver. Nikolas is all ready to have the jet prepped, but Lucky points out that Denver is a hub so she could’ve gotten on any number of flights. They’re looking into more passenger lists. Nikolas says he’ll let PCPD handle it for now but he’ll find his son on his own if he has to.

Colleen’s Denver Apartment
Colleen got the job. This will allow her to save money so that they can keep moving if need be. The tv news report warns of a bad storm coming.

Lake House
Ric says he’s filing for sole custody on the grounds that Alexis has a debilitating disease and her association with Sonny puts his daughter into danger. He offers her generous visitation rights. When she refuses, he threatens that he’ll see to it that she will only see Molly once a month and every other Christmas. He storms out. Alexis tells Sonny not to do anything bad. I don’t think Ric is as smart as he thinks he is. All a judge has to hear is that Alexis wants the 2 sisters to be raised together and he’ll either leave Alexis with custody or he’ll give custody to Sonny since Sonny has an ex-wife who already raises his 2 boys and has proven that she’ll help him out with the 2 girls.

GH – 5th Floor
Audrey asks Elizabeth about why Ric was there. Elizabeth fills her in on the custody battle and turning him down. Audrey thinks that was a good thing to do. Ric doesn’t deserve that little girl. Elizabeth wonders if she could deny someone else access to a child that was his. Audrey assumes Elizabeth is talking about Lucky.

Penthouse
Sam realizes that Jason has to make snap decisions all the time that mean the difference between life and death and there’s no time to think about how it will affect a child. Sam gets that they’re not meant to have kids. But it won’t stop her from wanting them. Jason understands. They hug.
