–Spinelli to Lulu, discussing his awesomeness.
Recaplet for Wednesday, December 27, 2006:
Lulu, Spinelli, and Dillon run through scenarios of who might have killed Rick Webber.
Sam gets a job at GH.
The search for Spencer continues. Nikolas is wicked unhappy. Colleen is psycho.
Jason’s Penthouse
Jason’s looking at old online articles about Manny’s death. When Sam comes down the stairs, he closes the laptop. She tells him she saw the picture so he didn’t have to hide it from her. She won’t live in fear.
Kelly’s Diner
Mike’s telling Elizabeth about what happened at Queen of Angels last night. He says it’s either Helena or Colleen. Elizabeth votes Helena, as she’s capable of kidnapping people. Lucky comes downstairs, asking Mike for coffee to go. He ask Elizabeth how her Christmas was. She says it was quiet. She told Cam that Lucky had to work. She asks how the search is going. He says that they’re combing the whole state.
Colleen’s Apartment in Denver
Colleen brings Spencer “home.”
Wyndemere – Study
Emily brings Nikolas some food and tells him to eat to keep his strength up. He, naturally, is too upset to eat. He can’t believe he let Colleen into his home.
GH – 5th Floor Waiting Area
Lulu walks up to Spinelli. She thought he was still in Tennessee. Granny’s off on her Bingo Excursion so that left him with lots of time to dig up stuff. He rambles. She asks why he called her. He rambles some more. She wants him to get to the point. He knows who the killer is. His theory? Alan did it. He fills her in on all the history between Rick Webber and Alan. Monica overhears this.
Elm Street Pier
Dillon meets with Georgie. She gives him a gift. He’s a bit flustered because he doesn’t have one for her. He didn’t know they were exchanging. She says she bought it for him a while back. He unwraps it and is excited. It’s 8 Stanley Kubrick movies. He wants to do a film night. Watch all the movies, plus the documentary, eat popcorn, etc. Georgie’s excited. Dillon’s phone rings. It’s Monica. She wants Dillon to come talk to Lulu. Georgie is upset. Georgie says it’s not a problem. She has some research to do for Pete. Dillon’s jealous that she’s doing some work for Pete, but doesn’t say anything.
Kelly’s Diner
Elizabeth wonders if Lucky’s talked to either Nikolas or Emily. She’s not sure if she should just show up at Wyndemere or not. Lucky says they’re both preoccupied. Elizabeth is glad Emily’s with Nikolas because Nikolas needs her now. Lucky says that the loss of a child would’ve brought them back together. Maxie walks in.
Jason’s Penthouse
Sam’s applying for a job at General Hospital. She wants to start paying her own way. He thinks she should do something she likes, like diving. She agrees that it pays better but that he can’t do that if she wants to get pregnant.
Wyndemere – Study
Nikolas hangs up the phone. Helena’s been at the Cosmopolitan Hotel since last night. Emily says it proves that Helena’s not involved. Nikolas thinks it’s a diversionary tactic for her people to get Spencer out of town. Emily is pretty sure it’s Colleen. Nikolas is sure Helena’s behind it somehow. Emily theorizes that Helena brought Colleen in to help her be a presence in Spencer’s life but lost control of her. Nikolas gets upset. Emily tries to calm him down by saying that maybe they’re over thinking it and Colleen just took Spencer because she couldn’t have Nikolas. He’s angry that he was arrogant enough to hire Colleen against everyone else’s advice.
Colleen’s Apartment in Denver
Colleen’s talking to Spencer about how Nikolas could’ve had a perfect life with her but instead he chose Emily. Emily’s selfish and she wouldn’t have loved Spencer as much as she would’ve her own kids with Nikolas. Well, Nikolas got what he wanted: Emily. So Colleen got what she wanted: Spencer.
GH – 5th Floor Nurses Station
Dillon sees Spinelli and Lulu in the waiting area. He tells Monica that he thought Spinelli was in Tennessee. Monica feels that Spinelli is the wrong element for Lulu to hang out with, considering his constantly altered state. She says Lulu’s still grieving over Laura. Meanwhile, Spinelli’s telling Lulu about Rick and Alan’s feud. Dillon walks over to Lulu and asks to speak to her.
Jason’s Penthouse
Sam knows Jason’s not ready to be a dad yet, but she’s not ruling it out yet. He tells her that he doesn’t want her to set herself up for disappointment. She’s doing this for herself, she tells him, and leaves.
Kelly’s Diner
Maxie greets them and hopes their Christmases were good. Elizabeth says hers was fine. Lucky said he had to work. Maxie says Mac hasn’t been home since last night. Why is the Police Commissioner working on this case? How small is this town? Elizabeth excuses herself to go to work. Maxie says the stairs still bother her. Lucky can’t believe he let himself get that angry. He says they both need to grieve.
GH – 10th Floor
Maxie is late, as usual. Maxie tells Georgie to calm down. She’s a volunteer, which means she’s not going to get fired. Georgie tells Maxie that this volunteering gig is the only thing from keeping Mac from losing his mind with her. Blah blah blah.
Elm Street Pier
Jason’s on the phone with Stan, talking about the Manny/Mateo situation. He gets off when he sees Elizabeth and Cam with Chuggin’ Charlie. She thanks him again for the gift. Cam wouldn’t open any of his other gifts. Jason says hi to Cam.
GH – 5th Floor
Sam runs into Ms. Sneed (closed captioning says her name is Iris so that’s what I’m calling her). Iris recognizes her from her mug shot on tv and from their last encounter (I have no idea). Sam apologizes for that. Iris says they have Sam’s application on file. Sam’s got an updated one. Iris looks at and snottily says that the murder isn’t on here. Sam says the charges were dropped. Iris says that doesn’t mean the hospital has to hire her. Sam wants an interview or else there might be a discrimination lawsuit. Iris snits “Very well. Come with me” and walks off. Sam follows. Epiphany watches them walk off. Maxie walks in and Epiphany is immediately on her. Maxie’s late. Maxie dramatically says “I lost my baby.” Epiphany tells her to ask for time off if she needs it then. Maxie says she’d rather keep busy. Epiphany tells her to take down the Christmas decorations. Maxie starts to do that and is interrupted by Pete, who’s looking for Georgie. Maxie wants to know what he wants with her sister.
Kelly’s Diner
Lulu and Dillon come in to sit down. Lulu wants to know why Spinelli’s a problem. Dillon says he’s not. He just thinks that Lulu’s getting too mired in the past. She’s becoming obsessed. Spinelli comes in, all “Dude, that was harsh, bailing on me like that.” Dillon: “Oh look. We were followed.” Lulu wonders who wants her away from Spinelli. Dillon says no one. Lulu’s not so sure. The Qs always stick together in a jam and Spinelli’s found evidence that Alan killed Rick.
PCPD
Nikolas had to get out of the house but Alfred’s waiting by the phone. He asks what’s going on in the search. Cruz is looking through airport security footage. He finds a woman with a baby. Before they can do much with it, Mac comes in. They’ve got a lead. A red haired woman with a baby rented a car and is on her way towards Canada. Mac wants Cruz on it. Lucky goes back to working on the picture of the woman on the airport footage.
GH – 5th Floor
Pete introduces himself and explains that Georgie’s doing research for him for his book. Maxie points out that his work sounds like it would be more suited to a grad student, but then correctly guesses that he’d have to pay a grad student. Georgie’s walking by and sees Pete. She starts going on and on about her research. He’s pleased by her progress and says he’ll see her later. Maxie says that Georgie’s taking Teacher’s Pet to a whole new level.
Kelly’s Diner
Dillon fills Lulu in on all the Rick/Alan/Monica hubabaloo. Lulu is convinced that it’s Alan. Dillon calls that a rookie mistake. She can’t assume the first answer is the correct one.
Elm Street Pier
Jason’s playing with Cam. Elizabeth is crying. She’s just hormonal. She wants people to think she can raise both kids on her own but she can’t deprive her kids of their dad. They discuss Lucky and Maxie. Jason’s sure Elizabeth will figure out the right thing to do and do it when she’s ready.
PCPD
Nikolas, Emily and Lucky are checking out the photo. Nikolas doesn’t recognize the woman but he knows that she’s holding Spencer.
Kelly’s Diner
“Leonardo diCaprio” Spinelli says. Dillon and Lulu are confused. Spinelli says that’s whom he wants to play him in Dillon’s film. Lulu says they’re not making a movie. Dillon tells Lulu that he’s not sure Alan killed Rick. Lulu says he’s just trying to cover for his uncle. Spinelli: “Seen that movie.” Dillon thinks Rick would’ve killed Rick before 2002. Spinelli: “Or Edward Norton.” Dillon: “Oh! My! God! I’m not making a friggin’ movie!! Play solitaire or something!” I really wish I could recap the scenes with these 3 better because they’re quite hilarious. The way the actor playing Spinelli puts a chip into his mouth after Dillon tells him to play Solitaire is just too funny. And especially the interaction between Dillon and Lulu when he’s filling her in on the Q history. Dillon says they have to figure out who was hurt by Rick or who Rick double-crossed.
GH – 5th Floor
Maxie says that Pete was flirting with Georgie. Georgie says that even if it were true, which it’s not, nothing would come of it. He could lose his job and she could get kicked out of school. Maxie tells her not to get caught. She says that she went after Lucky when she wanted him and got him. And now they’re becoming closer than ever.
Elizabeth’s on time, Epiphany notes. Elizabeth says things were aligned correctly. She asks how Epiphany’s Christmas was. Epiphany says Stanford got her too many expensive gifts and she told him she’d rather have a less expensive gift if it meant he had a job that wasn’t dangerous. Oh! Stan is her son. Was that established before? I mean I knew her son worked for Jason and Sonny, but I didn’t know it was Stan.
Iris won’t hire Sam. Alan steps in and overrules her. Iris says he can’t. He says he’s Chief of Staff so he can. Can he? I’m going to have to look that up. It seems that a lot of people on this show think their job entitles them to a lot more than it really does. Iris tells her to report to Personnel and walks off. Sam thanks Alan. He says that she saved Jason’s life so he owes her one.
Jason’s Penthouse
Stan tells Jason that Mateo is the real deal, at least on paper. He shows him Mateo’s seminary transcripts, etc. Jason wonders if there’s any chance that Manny survived and is impersonating his brother.
PCPD
Lucky futzes with the picture more and they figure out that it’s Colleen. Nikolas is practically frothing at the mouth with anger.
Colleen’s Apartment in Denver
Colleen’s on the phone with a daycare agency, trying to get a job.
Kelly’s Diner
Dillon says they need to recreate Rick’s steps when he came back into town. Did he have lunch with anyone? Did he see Monica again? Spinelli says he could get hotel records. Dillon shushes Spinelli and realizes that Monica was the one who called him to get Lulu away from Spinelli. It would explain why she freaked about letting Spinelli stay at the Q mansion. Lulu thinks they’re being overly suspicious of Monica. Dillon posits. Why did Rick drug Laura? To cover up the murder of Teresa Carter. Who else knew about the murder and who else had reason to cover it up? Hmm…perhaps Scotty?
GH – 5th Floor
Maxie and Georgie are goofing around while taking down the Christmas decorations. Epiphany notes to Elizabeth that it seems almost like Maxie was never pregnant.
Jason’s Penthouse
Stan shows Jason Manny’s autopsy reports. Manny’s definitely dead. But before he found God, Mateo Ruiz was 10 times worse than Manny. So if Father Ruiz is out to avenge Manny, Javier and Dad, then he’ll do some serious damage. Okay. Here’s my problem. Father Ruiz said yesterday that no one knew about him because the family wanted to keep him safe. But the information Stan gets says that Manny and Mateo were in the same gang, got the same tattooes, went to jail together, etc. So how is it exactly that no one knows about him? If he was a gangbanger and he was *worse* than Manny, wouldn’t people remember him? Or wouldn’t they at least remember that Manny had a twin brother?
Elm Street Pier
Sam’s reading through an employee handbook when she runs into Father Ruiz.
