Recaplet for Thursday, October 26, 2006.
Alexis gets a fever and goes back into the hospital.
Nikolas, Lucky, and Lulu rush to Laura’s room.
Ric makes a move on both Sonny & Jason and takes advantage of Alexis’ hospital stay.

D.A.’s Office
Ric meets with Mayor Floyd and tells him he got a conviction on a murder case. Sonny comes in to talk to Ric. Mayor Floyd tells Sonny that he can’t dictate terms in the DA’s office. Sonny offers to get a bunch of reporters in there or even better, how would the Mayor like to try getting re-elected in the middle of a garbage strike? The Mayor doesn’t like being blackmailed. Ric says he’ll handle it. The Mayor snots “See that you do!” and leaves. Sonny tells Ric that threatening women is low, especially ones with cancer. and the mother of his child. He tells Ric to back off Alexis and to back off his business or else. Ric says that he used to work for Sonny and wants to know if Sonny really wants him as an enemy.

The Lake House
Carly comes to talk to Alexis about Sam (I’m guessing because it’s never really clear why Carly went over there). When she gets there, she notices that Alexis is burning up and wants to know why Alexis isn’t at the hospital. Alexis says she’s fine but Carly thinks not and tries to get her up to go to the hospital. Alexis is resistant. Carly wants to know where everyone is. Alexis says that Sam’s gone and that the girls are upstairs with Viola. She insists that she’ll be fine. Carly rolls her eyes and says “Oh yes. It’ll be great for Kristina to come down and find you dead.”

The Penthouse
Sam, having walked in on Elizabeth and Jason talking, asks if the paternity results came back. Jason tells her that the baby is Lucky’s. They all agree that it’s for the best and Elizabeth leaves. Jason asks Sam about Alexis. Sam tells her that Alexis doesn’t want her around so it’s over.

ShadyBrook
Luke’s talking to Laura, telling her to find the road back to him. Robin can’t take it and leaves. Patrick consoles her. She says that she wished she hadn’t told Luke because of the false hope, both his and hers. She had hope that it would work because if there was hope for Laura, there would be hope for her and others. She and Patrick go back into the room. Lulu, Lucky, and Nikolas burst into the room, wanting to know what Luke did. Robin explains the drug and side effects. Nikolas tries to rip the IV bag out of Laura’s arm but Luke stops him. Nikolas tells Luke he has no right to do any of this. Luke says he has every right and that Nikolas can leave on his own or Luke can throw him out. Patrick tells everyone to take it outside. Nikolas reiterates that Luke, legally, has no right to make any decisions about Laura. He’s not married to her anymore so her kids are her next of kin. Nikolas and Lulu want the treatment stopped, but Lucky says he wants the treatment to continue.

GH
Carly gets Alexis to the hospital. Carly tells Epiphany all the symptoms and gives Epiphany the latest round of meds that Alexis was taking. Epiphany chastises Alexis for not paying attention to the symptoms and praises Carly for getting her to the hospital.

The Penthouse
Jason and Sam discuss her relationship with Alexis and how everything was a lie. Jason says he can understand why Alexis was mad. Sonny comes in and says they have a problem with Ric. Ric’s unstable, Ric’s dangerous, etc. Sonny tells Sam to make amends with Alexis. If she has this unresolved thing with Alexis and then Alexis dies, Sam will regret it. Sam says no way, then gets a call from Carly, who tells her Alexis is in the hospital.

GH
Carly tells Alexis she called Sam. Alexis doesn’t want Sam there. Carly launches into her whole back history about seducing Tony while he was married to Bobbie to illustrate a point: mothers can forgive daughters. And even though Sam isn’t blameless, Ric is a dog.

D.A.’s Office
Ric’s on the phone, ordering police raids on all of Sonny’s and Jason’s businesses. Mayor Floyd comes in and Ric tells him to get on the bandwagon. First order of business is to make Rick the actual D.A. Alexis will always be soft on crime because of her relationship with Sonny. When Mayor Floyd points out that Ric has a relationship with Sonny too, even having worked for him, Ric says that they can spin it to say that Ric did that to gain knowledge to take Sonny down. Mayor Floyd can’t believe that Ric would take Alexis’ job. Ric says Alexis isn’t a factor in his life anymore and that his main concern is Molly.

ShadyBrook
Lucky points out that Luke knows Laura better than all 3 of the kids put together. Nikolas points out that she could end up worse. Lulu backs him up. At least Laura’s still alive. Lucky’s not so sure. What kind of life does she have? She sits in a chair all day. He says that the mom he had growing up would want to do this. Luke walks back into Laura’s room and talks to her some more.

GH – Alexis’ Room
Carly is still nagging Alexis to forgive Sam. Sam shows up. Carly leaves. Alexis is surprised to see her. Sam asks if she shouldn’t have come. Alexis isn’t sure she can forgive Sam right now. She’s too tired and hurt and sick. They both keep hurting each other so Alexis thinks it’s best for them to stay away. Sam agrees to respect Alexis’ wishes. As she’s leaving, she snots “At least now you get what you wanted: to be the victim. I hope that works out for you.” Wow, way to take the hight road there, Sam. Bitch.

ShadyBrook
Laura’s still unresponsive. The kids all come in to talk to her. Lulu gets overly emotional and runs out. Robin apologizes to Luke for giving him false hope. He goes back in to talk to Laura.

The Penthouse
Jason and Sonny discuss Ric. Bernie calls to say that the police have raided the warehouses and The Compound. Jason tells Sonny that Ric just made his first move.

GH
Dr. Trent calls Ric to tell him that Alexis is in the hospital. Ric says that he and Alexis are no longer together so he’s not responsible for her anymore.

Lover’s Rooftop
Elizabeth’s burning the results of the paternity test. If she’s not a smoker, where did she get the big Zippo lighter? She just carries one around for emergencies? Also, I guess this is meant to make us believe that Jason is the father. Me, I’m thinking that maybe Lucky is the father, but Elizabeth just doesn’t want the results to fall into the wrong hands. This way, there won’t be hard, physical proof that she ever slept with Jason.

The Lake House
Ric shows up and takes Molly, under the guise of taking her out to the park.

Elm Street Pier
Sonny and Jason meet Bernie, who tells them that he gave them access to all the legit business stuff. Sonny praises Bernie for a job well done minimizing the damage. He orders a stop to all illegal activities. Talk turns to the paternity stuff. Jason, once again, states that it’s for the best. Sonny wants to know if Jason’s going to take Sam back now. Sam eavesdrops.

Luke talks to Laura one more time. He hopes that she’s safe, that she didn’t get hurt from all this, that she’s happy where she is. They’ve beaten the odds before but this time, their luck didn’t hold out and the house won. He is about to leave when he hears her says his name!
