I’m going to be adding to this list as new characters come along and I’ll cross out characters who leave or die as it happens.  This list is in no order whatsoever, so just scroll down for names. I’ll try to include as much information as I can about each person but I can’t make any promises.  You can go to SoapCentral’s Who’s Who to get a more detailed synopsis of the characters.

Sonny Corinthos: aka Michael Corinthos, Jr.; Mr. Corinthos Sir.
Local crime lord.  He’s primarily an arms dealer, but he also imports/exports coffee (which would make you also suspect drugs but he’s a criminal with a moral code, apparently, and is against the drug trade.).  He also owns several strip clubs.  He has an adopted son name Michael (Carly is the mother), a biological son with Carly named Morgan, and a daughter with Alexis named Kristina.  Ric Lansing is his half brother.  Mike Corbin is his biological father. 

Carly Corinthos: aka Caroline; the Valkyrie.
Carly is currently the co-owner of the Metro Court Hotel with Jax.  She has 2 kids: Michael (AJ is the dad) and Morgan (Sonny).  Jason is her best friend (probably because he’s the only one who can stand her).  

Jasper Jacks: aka Jax.
Corporate raider who currently co-owns the Metro Court with Carly.  He has a brother named Jerry, who was once engaged to Carly’s mother, Bobbie.  Jax has a history of bad blood with Sonny because they keep falling in love with the same women. 

Jason Morgan: aka Jason Quartermaine, Stone Cold.
Right hand man to Sonny.  Hottie.  Used to be a goody-goody Quartermaine until an accident left him with brain damage.  Unable to function at PCU, he dropped out and started working for Sonny.  Was involved with Robin and Elizabeth before finally settling down with Courtney, Sonny’s half sister.  After Courtney and he parted ways, he fell in love with Sam McCall.  He has a baby on the way with Elizabeth as a result of a one-night stand and a faulty condom.

James Craig: aka James Brosnan, Jerry Jacks. aka CJC by me in the recaps
James Craig was the mastermind behing the Metro Court Hotel Hostage Crisis of February 2007. It has recently been revealed that he is actually Jax’s brother, Jerry. Jerry was once engaged to Bobbie Spencer.

Luke Spencer:
Former mobster who fell in love with Laura Spencer and changed his ways, sort of. Owns the Haunted Star, a gambling boat. Used to own Luke’s, a blues club.  Has 2 biological kids (Lucky and Lulu with Laura) and one stepkid (Dillon with Tracy). 

Lucky Spencer:
Luke and Laura’s son. A detective on the PCPD, he’s got a pill addiction that he’s fighting to overcome. Had an affair with Maxie Jones while hooked on pills.

Lulu Spencer:
Luke and Laura’s daughter. A student at PCU, she has her mother’s beauty and her father’s tenacity. Currently fighting off 3 ardent suitors and 1 not-so-ardent suitor.

Nikolas Cassadine:
Laura’s son from either Stefan or Stavros Cassadine (I don’t remember if Stefan ended up being the dad or not). He’s constantly battling with his grandmother Helena over the Cassadine legacy.

Emily Quartermaine:
Adopted daughter of Alan and Monica. Intern at General Hospital.

Robin Scorpio:
Daughter of Robert and Anna. Doctor (medical research) at GH. HIV +.

Patrick Drake:
Son of Noah Drake. Doctor (neurosurgeon) at General Hospital.

Elizabeth Webber: aka Liz
Nurse at General Hospital.

Damien Spinelli: aka The Jackal; Assassin of Cyberspace.
PCU student/computer hacker who hangs with Lulu.

Samantha McCall: aka the Goddess.
Alexis’ daughter. Former con artist and salvage diver.

Alexis Davis: aka the Goddess Mother.
former District Attorney. Battled lung cancer.

Ric Lansing: aka the Dastardly DA; the Complete and Utter Bastard.
District Attorney and Sonny’s half brother. Hates Sonny with a passion and will do anything to get rid of him.

Lorenzo Alcazar: aka Evil Al.
Rival crime lord. Also runs weapons.

Skye Quartermaine:
I don’t even know how to describe her because all she’s ever been since I started re-watching the show is Alcazar’s girlfriend. Alan’s adopted daughter.

Alan Quartermaine:
Chief of Staff at General Hospital. Deceased. Currently haunting his sister Tracy because she forged his will.

Monica Quartermaine:
Head of Cardiology at General Hospital.

Edward Quartermaine:
Patriarch of the Quartermaine clan. Head of ELQ Industries.

Tracy Quartermaine:
Alan’s sister. CEO of ELQ.

Dillon Quartermaine:
Tracy’s son. Film student at PCU.

Georgie Jones:
Son of Frisco and Felicia. Student at PCU. volunteers at Kelly’s and GH.

Maxie Jones: aka the skank
Son of Frisco and Felicia. Student at PCU, works at the Metro Court Boutique. volunteers at Kelly’s and GH.

Max Giambetti:
Sonny’s head of security and then head of security at the Metro Court Hotel.

Milo Giambetti:
Max’s brother. A personal bodyguard for Sonny and the Boys.

Michael and Morgan Corinthos: aka the Boys.
Michael is AJ Quartermaine’s son but adopted by Sonny. Morgan is Sonny and Carly’s son.

Kristina Corinthos and Molly Lansing: aka the Girls.
Alexis’ daughters (by Sonny and Ric). Oh lord, not only are they half sisters, they’re also cousins.

Coleman:
Owner of Jake’s Bar.

Kelly Lee:
OB/GYN doctor at General Hospital. Robin’s friend and former roommate.

Lainey (I’m sure she has a last name, but I don’t know it):
Psychiatrist at General Hospital. Robin’s friend and former roommate. Sonny’s personal shrink.

Michael Corbin:
Sonny’s dad.

Bobbie Spencer:
Luke’s sister. Oversees all nurses at General Hospital.

Epiphany Johnson:
Head nurse at General Hospital.

Stan Johnson:
Epiphany’s son. Works for Jason Morgan as a computer specialist. Big proponent for the workers and anti-establishment and against “The Man.”

Lady Jane Jacks:
Jax’s mother.

Alice: aka The Dominator.
The Quartermaine’s housekeeper.

Iris Sneed:
Administrator at GH. Very much a bureaucrat.

Cooper Barrett: aka Coop, 3, 3oop
Former hostage taker, now security guard at McHotel. Forced by Sonny to join PCPD to infiltrate and report back to him.

Logan Hayes:
Coop’s Army buddy.

Noah Drake:
Doctor at GH. Patrick’s father.

Russell Ford:
Doctor at GH. Trying to take Chief of Staff position from Monica. Lost his wife to breast cancer.
